And this is their brand spanking new video for “Fairytale”, a song of pure pop-punk essence with intelligent lyrics and hooks of heartache and struggle faced by many. Led by the ever radiant vocal siren, Nikki, who brings a powerful female edge to the band, and is accompanied by the foot-tapping, heartbeat thrush of guitars, bass and drums (Alan, Phil, Paul and Cary respectively).

The video takes me back to the classic days of music videos (…does anyone remember that? …when MTV actually played music and not reality TV?). A relaxed setting, embraced by vibrant characters and friends of what it’s like to be at an intimate, fun show (and if you ever do get the chance to see Seeking Empire live don’t you dare miss it!) An air of comfort circles the video set, switching from moments of solidarity to a sphere of good friends and good times. If you love amazing music, miss the days when videos mattered and had that focus on performance and the fun feeling only music can give you then this is perfection in visual and audio format.

It’s easy as following these steps:

Step 1: Log onto a computer or mobile device (if you see this, then good job!)

Step 2: push the play button and spare 3 minutes and 20 seconds for pure sensory enjoyment

Step 3: find the “share” button after the video and send your friends and followers the lovely gift of good music and good videos

Step 4: check out more music and goodies from Seeking Empire on facebook and twitter (www.facebook.com/seekingempire & @seekingempire)

SOLD OUT & SOARING (Seeking Empire)

Saturday, January 21st, 2012.

Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco, CA.

My activities the night of the 21st were lucky enough to take me to downtown San Francisco on the corner of 17th street to a small, pleasant venue (with slightly over priced drinks), but a good vibe and an even better line up for the night. Good job to all the bands who played, but I was still there for only one reason: Seeking Empire. If you are reading this and don’t know who they are yet, flip back just one post before this and check them out on their facebook page to get their debut EP for FREE.

First, just so it’s on record, I can not stress how wonderful and kind this band is; I was treated like gold and it only made me enjoy everything that much more. You put amazing music and talent together with award winning personalities and genuinely kind, caring people who are beyond motivated and just EXCITED, you can’t lose. That’s exactly what this band is and their excitement, energy and happiness were contagious.

As they say, the show must go OFF and did it ever. Like I said, this is my first time ever seeing Seeking Empire play (also, only their third live show ever, Paul’s first with the band, along with their original drummer, Derrick joining the line-up for that night), and being so already deeply and thoroughly in love with their EP, this was beyond words. There were a few technical problems, not any fault of the band and in my opinion, it did not take a single thing away from their performance.

Led by such an strong, engaging female performer is big point in Seeking Empire’s music; perhaps my inner feminist coming out, but I love seeing and being around inspiring and empowering women who are uber talented and have that natural gift of just being amazing at what they do and doing it with passion. Watching Nikki on stage, I definitely saw a very bright ray of passion coming out with every word she sang and beautiful note she hit that night. The poetic lyrics were delivered gracefully and packed with a punch from a powerhouse voice, enhanced with a killer instrumental structure to set it all off. The pure excitement I felt radiating off the stage was enough to make me smile and every bit of hard work and practice this band did was put to extremely good use and prominently displayed.

The overall chemistry of this perfectly fitting jigsaw band (in reference to the members coming together from prior bands) was really quite stunning and pleasing. For being fully on stage and in front of a crowd together for the first time with that’s night line up, you wouldn’t believe that they hadn’t played together like that for ages. Looking up and just seeing them so entranced in the moment, playing their hearts out for every single person in that room is a feeling I missed being around. Live music is something irreplaceable and something I’d love to be around every day I have left. Seeking Empire is one of my favorites I’ve seen live and I’m already waiting to sign up for the next show.

The high level of energy, ripping on their guitars and bass, smashing the drums and guided by powerful vocals (including Phil of course) sent sparks in every inch of my music loving soul. When you find music you like and get the privilege to hear it live and done so very well like this, you are lucky because not everyone can have a connection to something like this; if you’re in music, then you know how it feels and understand perfectly what my words are failing to get across right now.

Bravo to you, Seeking Empire for an amazing, energetic and just damned good show. Honestly, if any of you ever get the chance to see these guys play, don’t miss out on your chance at a really fantastic show and seeing some of the most talented, sweetest people I’ve ever been lucky enough to be around. Check out their music, check out a show and I promise you won’t regret it—-everyone needs good music in their lives.

Up and coming bay area musicians, Seeking Empire, are an eclectic mix of musicians from other bands coming together with a rock inspired, yet eloquent sound. I first learned of Seeking Empire through my unfaltering love for Good Charlotte. Bassist (the ever so fabulous and kind hearted) Paul Thomas from GC is involved in the production and also plays bass on the tracks for SE.

Led by vocalists Nikki Aclaro, the band gets a much enjoyed female edge to their sound; I must say I love seeing a powerful female in front of the mic with an amazing band along side them. When I first listened to SE, I got almost a Paramore vibe, simply from the vocals (and much too often we compare female singers against each other when really the only commonality lies in the fact that they are female—i.e. see the 90s Riot Grrrl movement). However, when you take time to really listen to Nikki, she carries a very strong, powerful voice that is laced with a very elegant tone and keeps you wanting to listen to more tracks. There is a sweetness to the lead vocals, backed by a strong instrumental band with killer drum tracks and guitar and bass riffs alike. The combination takes me back to the earlier days when I got into music and a band that is on their way with strong music being supported by poignant, catchy lyrics that supplement the graceful delivery from Nikki (some really great lines, listen close). The balance created between the vocals and instrumental notes is definitely a harmonious one, letting you indulge into a brand new band and have that blossoming feeling of passion a new band brings to the industry; it’s refreshing, revitalizing in a way when you find a great new band to listen to and like you can hear the success to come in every note and lyric pouring through your speakers.

This is a band I’d love to see live, their sound seems perfect for a show and the energy in the music is something I know translates on stage into something amazing and fun; more than likely to leave you with that ‘post show high’ any good band does with their performances.

The bay area band has released their EP (YES, IT’S FREE; grab it on their facebook page! Free good music, what more could you want?!) with a collection of songs that both entraps and entertains you, keeping them on repeat until you can’t get them out of your head. My favorite has been “Remember the End”, with lyrics of what touring is and being away from home; the strong lyrics again guided by the melodic sounds of Nikki’s voice and powerful music that emphasizes the words of being away and traveling on ‘sheets of gray’. “Remember the End” is only one of the great listens on the EP, so don’t just take my word for it, check out the free music and pick your own favorite! The band has also put out a few music videos already as well, which also can be found linked on their facebook.

Aside from the great music, lyrics and vocals, since I’ve developed more and more love for this band, the thing that draws me in even more is…them. I’ve been apart of the fan bases that are blessed to have the nicest, more caring members behind them and always stuck up and around for the fans no matter what; SE is no different. Extraordinarily nice and caring, giving their fans so much of themselves and more than anything a fan can ask for; we’re in it for the music ourselves and that’s all we can ask for and expect, a band owes us nothing (many fans fail to realize this). We are fans because we love the music, we’re bound to it in a way many can never understand. (SE, thank you for being so good to your supporters—we’ll keeping spreading the SE love!)

Seeking Empire is :
Nikki Aclaro—vocals
Phil Pristia — guitar
Paul Thomas —producer/bass
Alan Kao —guitar
Cary LaScala— drums

Most everything is lyrics, but it’s because I love them so much. It’s music that’s become a part of me and been there by my side that I’ll cherish forever, no matter what.

14 total GC tattoos right now, and while that’s kind of insane, I don’t regret a single one and they just remind me why I do what I do, of my best friends, and the band that has given me so much more than they’ll ever know.

A random post of all my good charlotte tattoos thus far. I was just bored and looking at them and decided to post them all here….however, they don’t all fit, so part two is right behind this :P

I think we can all agree that Good Charlotte's album "Cardiology" was a low point for the band's career

marsneedswomen:

But I’m so happy that their new single is 1979. I really love that song, it’s definitely the best song on the album. It’s pretty beautiful in a really positive way and I love the way it contrasts with the song “Emotionless” (From The Young & The Hopeless).
If you haven’t heard it, go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMLu1-HmkNw&ob=av2n

IM GOING TO HAVE TO POLITELY DISAGREE. We should not generalize it as being their low point, when it’s an album that does show growth and reflects where they are in their lives right now and a rather quite positive album in that right. Just sayin’.

ie: http://iamashleynicole.tumblr.com/post/1419949681/cardiology-in-review

And yes, 1979 is fantastic, musically and lyrically.

One More Tour in the Books

June 22nd

House of Blues, Myrtle Beach SC.

Another end to another tour. More goodbyes I can’t stand to say.

Although I didn’t go get to see the gator farm [that’s on my list for next time and my inner nerd is stoked], and despite the unfortunate heat, Myrtle Beach you were so, so good. I enjoyed the whole time being in you.

It was a bit of a late arrival in MB, but we were tired, heat stricken, and of course had to stop for food, gas etc. As soon as we got there, and managed to find the right direction on the highway, we got to our hotel and it was after 5 or so, so we were very anxious to get to the venue. We threw our stuff in the room, had an awkward and unpleasant conversation with the concierge, about who we were going to see, we took a cab and headed to the HOB.

….and there was no one there.

No, wait, I’m sorry, there were four young kids in the early entry line only. Doors were later at 730 though and it was stupidly hot. So, Katie and I went and got our drink on at the bar—pounding back two and three dollar drinks like nobody’s business before meeting with the girls at the store to get our things for early entry.

The barrier was extremely low at this venue, but they did have barricade bar service—win—, and the stage was wicked high. I was buzzing though and really didn’t mind much. The latest show of the tour, starting at 830, and I was losing my shit per usual as Runner Runner came on and while I was drunk with excitement and beyond stoked as the audience filled out and I screamed along, the sadness started to set in and I knew this would be the last show for a while with nothing future in the works. I kept going as hard as I could though, with a complete lack of inhibitions that probably made me look like a madwoman. I was having a blast though, and to be honest, sixty-nine shows in and this still hasn’t gotten old.

If I could do this every day with the best friends in the world, I absolutely would. I always feel incredibly happy and for those few hours, nothing else matters. It’s me, my friends, the stage, and the bands that let me keep my sanity. There’s no drama, no worry about petty problems that cause people to stress out on a daily basis, no letting “real life” get in the way, just enjoyment and losing yourself in the music that creates the thread that I hold onto on a daily basis that keeps me hanging on. It’s flawless and perfect and what I wish every day could be.

The music has this way of making you feel invincible. For me, it happens to be Good Charlotte’s music that does it for me the most. Who would ever want to give up that feeling, especially when it’s amplified at live shows? Luckily, we’ll always have itunes or cds to create that feeling, but there’s something that can’t be replaced seeing them live—they bring it to an entirely new level that I can’t even explain properly and these words could never do justice, it’s something intangible that just takes you over and there isn’t a time you won’t walk away smiling afterwards.

So like really good sex?

Is that slightly inappropriate? Probably. I apologize to any younger readers or those not a fan of my sometimes charmingly crude humor that escapes me. I’m really just a girl trying to be witty who’s probably making an ass of herself because I can never seem to properly explain things because it’s a feeling that fails to let words suffice for what it’s like to have that experience.

I love this band, I love this lifestyle, I love the memories, I love my best friends, I love that I am lucky enough to have the opportunities I’ve had, and I can only hope this is able to continue for a good few more years at least. I’m simply insatiable when it comes to this.

The show, because it opened later, didn’t end until about midnight and I was understandably sad as the stage cleared. I tried to keep my emotions in until we made it back and I was at the airport where I typically have my post-tour cry fest and the onset of post tour partum kicks in, but I didn’t even make it to the bathroom before I was crying on Krisse’s shoulder. I obviously should not be allowed to drink in public, nor should tour ever come to an end.

Krisse and I hung around inside for a bit, said goodbye to Peter, whom we had a ‘Every Road {the maine} sing a long with, talked about gators and sadly departed from our beloved musician who I grew to enjoy very much this tour run especially. Said adios to Anthony, sang some Morrissey, and also ran into LP and spoke to him for the first time and let him know he’s a fantastic musician and they killed the shows.

We headed outside to meet up with Katie and Jazz…and it was really dark outside the HOB, like really dark and weird. We got to say goodbye to Joel, Benj, and Deano, along with Ryan Key overall and it was a very nice way to go out on tour.

I remember most of it, including downing another drink—a redbull and vodka, my first ever, and probably rambling and talking too much like I always do. To be honest, I really don’t remember too much of anything, except sitting on the ground, not being nearly as wasted at the chicks next to us, laughing at how the pictures I took turned out—-and taking a perfectly centered Polaroid for Katie. I remembering dying during the conversation with Benji and the discovery made, and it being one of the most memorable nights, ironically. We said goodbye to Tom as well, and as we headed to go away, being some of the last ones there since the buses had to leave pretty quickly, hearing someone yell for us and turning around to see Deano jogging toward us.

He’s uber sweet and I hadn’t really talked to him on this tour so I was wicked happy to see him. Talked about the usual—pajamas, movies, and the show. Pretty much.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. [you had to be there?] Then we had to say another goodbye, got hugs&kisses and hit the curb to call a taxi and go sleep. We’d actually be able to sleep in so it was much awaited after a very good end to another perfect show. The cab company had none available, so having no inhibitions still, I went to the last few people in the parking lot with krisse, since all our phones were dead, and asked them if they could look up a cab company on their internet.

It was Sean Mackin from yellowcard and their sound guy, Max, and these dudes were beyond wicked sweet. Max had a card from a cab earlier, they called it for us and didn’t hesitate at all. We got to thank them, tell them how good of a show it was, and chat for a second before running away back to the girls to get in our cab and head back to sleep.

Sleeping in late, we had lunch at the Olive Garden the next day and said goodbye to Myrtle Beach only to spend the next seventeen hours in a car as we trekked back to Boston. Longest drive of my life. Also happened to stop at Denny’s in Hanover as our late night dinner stop, the same one Katie and I went to after the SOYS tour in 08 with the girls and last time we were there, they played DFA right after the show at Sonar we had went to.

We walk in, and like just a few minutes later, DFA comes on. Like, all of the gin joints in the world…right then, when we come in, they start playing the same GC song? Nope. Katie and I lost our shit and I couldn’t take it, once again. It was déjà vu and it hit me pretty hard that once again it was all over again.

Made it back to Boston at like, 7am. Slept for a few and headed to the airport and once again I found myself engaged in much despised goodbyes. It gets harder every time and these girls become a bigger part of me every second we spend together.

I love them with all my heart and they make every second worth it. Tour never fails to be anything but perfection; so thank you to my girls and good charlotte once again for giving me the time of my life.

No Sex, Norfolk

June 21st

Norfolk, VA. Norva.

Virginia is for lovers, indeed. We met some amazing people in this state and even down to the hotel we stayed at, which was lovely, super close to the venue, and one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever actually stayed in.

We didn’t get into Norfolk [supposedly pronounced without the L sound, so like Nor-FUCK haha] around 3 pm with our five hour drive from Baltimore and the insane morning we had there. Some type of massive chase and police hold up was happening in downtown by the stadiums. We were stuck on a side street for almost a half an hour, well, probably less but it felt that way. So after getting our faces on, we stumbled into the hot weather of the uber small town and to the venue. Almost no one was in line, at all.

Katie and Jazzy headed to the mall in search of accessories for Katie’s tights and saw the boys there. We also discovered the Norva has an early entry option through a connected restaurant so we quickly jumped in line for that, dealt with some rather unpleasant young kids who fail to know proper concert etiquette and were just obscenely rude, and Katie and I knocked by a good set of once again ridiculously cheap drinks. Staking our spot in line, we made it in and claimed a spot right on the barrier from the Benji-Paul locale.

GC was playing last again, but the venue was nice and Krisse and I ended meeting some very nice people right behind us. They were long time GC fans too so it made all the more fun. I lost my shit during Runner Runner and I have to tell you, every time I see this band I love them more and more and it’s been a while now—I remember seeing them for the first time back in 2009 in Downtown Disney with Mest.

This was about when the multiple drinks started to loosen me up and it was a blast, and seeing yellowcard again was fantastic. Before this tour I only saw them years ago on Warped but I enjoyed them much more so now. I love the newer stuff and I love the older music as well, it was nice getting that sense of enjoyment out of something brand new but falling back into my younger teen years when they were a part of me discovering myself and my bond to music.

Music makes me feel complete and I’m never going to apologize for all the time I’ve put in to building that bond. It’s given me the best of friends and the most unbelievable experiences. The best thing I ever did was push play.

The crowd was really good in VA, but apparently it was “too rough” for the Norva staff and that’s where the drama for the night came along mid way through GC’s set. Security, and this was all just picked up from other kids and the guys seeing as we were on the barrier and could not fully see what all was happening, but there was a line of security guards in the middle of the crowds, preventing kids from taking any kind of photos and would restrain and threaten to expel them if they tried to jump and “mosh” for a lack of better words and just have a good time. No one was threatening anyone or getting ridiculously out of control, it was a normal energetic show.

Like Joel said, “this is a good charlotte show, not sick of it all, no one is gonna get hurt”. This is true, people take care of kids in the crowd and while some people argue and get in fights, the majority of the crowd just wants to enjoy themselves and have a blast. The band stood up for those kids there and refused to play until security left so no one had to watch their backs or be threatened with being thrown out, and it was the first time I had ever seen anything like this happen. It shouldn’t have come to that, but I am wicked proud to be a GC fan and know that they honestly just want you to enjoy yourself and not have to deal with bullshit like that. Yes, security is there to help you, they shouldn’t be trying to babysit you when it comes to that. No one was out of control, so there was no reason for that.

It was an amazing show though, and picked right back up when they started to play again. The energy was even higher and kids were even more stoked on the show so it ended up being fantastic if you ask me. All of us had a great time and we loved every second of it.

Afterwards we mingled for a second, spoke to Anthony and Peter—who every time I saw rocking out to GC in that balcony made me smile so big, also saw Ryan and then headed outside to meet up with Katie and Jazz who were waiting on the curb. Katie and I scurried and went for a few last second drinks then met back with the girls and made a bunch of nonsense as we hung out since the hotel was right down the street, literally.

As I remember Jazzy was bringing the jokes that night and before too long Benji came out and there really wasn’t that many people out and everyone was very respectful and lined right up and didn’t get too crazy. We were last so we got to stay and talk for a while and it’s moments like those that reaffirms why everything is always worth it. They never have to come out, but they do, and the moments we do get with them are perfect and whether we’re talking about something serious or crocodiles, it’s a time that none of us ever take for granted. Paul also came out quickly, and despite a few idiots that strolled along, we got to talk to him for a moment—and by then the alcohol had set in a bit more within myself—and we got our group picture and chatted for a minute before they left.

We headed back to our hotel to sleep before our final show and it was a good night. A very good night. This little town in the middle of nowhere was good to us and it was a fun and fantastic show with a good after hang as well and plenty of jokes to reminisce the day after.

Virginia you can love me any day.Another new state that I saw them in to add to my list of places I love.

A generation lost in themselves

These days, the younger generations are facing a big problem: themselves. Well, their sense of entitlement. A good chunk of those under 30 today are somehow believers, and in my opinion a lot of this is because we also so heavily and fervently seek instant gratification because we’re lazier with the assistance of technology—hell we rarely make normal phone calls anymore, but we feel like are entitled to everything. If someone doesn’t do something for us, we harass them, if we don’t get what we want then we revert to pathetic mannerisms and throw tantrums. It’s sad and disappointing to see, and honestly, I’m embarrassed because I’m sure other generations just view us all as spoiled brats, which is understandable.

I wish people would stop being so ungrateful and start being thankful. Why can’t we get rid of the entitlement and maybe realize that we DON’T get everything we want, we need to work to make our lives fruitful, and that the world doesn’t end when everyone doesn’t bend to your will or you don’t get what you want; be grateful because you never know when you will end so don’t waste your time being spiteful and self-centered. Life is better when you have those you love around you and no one wants to be friends with a selfish asshole, let’s face that fact right there.

This whole rant came about after a recent tour. Kids were being so disrespectful and harassing band members via social networking because they did not come out after a show. Alright, now let’s get to it. When you pay money and get a ticket to that concert you are paying to see that artist perform and hear their music. Anything after that, such as a meet and greet, photo, autograph, etc is really just a bonus. These musicians are people too and sometimes they have bad days, perhaps they have family they don’t see much, they have to be in the next city very quickly, or they just are sick and don’t feel good—they have no obligations to come out and see people. Why yes, it is a nice treat, I can’t tell you how many times I have seen a band play and not a single member came out. They don’t have to, but many of them do and we should be even more thankful we get to see our favorite artists when they do come out—but instead we then criticize them and make them feel awful the times they don’t come out to personally say ‘hello’?

That’s kind of fucked. Especially going to the extremes are calling them profane names, cursing at them, telling them you now hate them and it was the worst show ever. Grow up and get over yourselves, the world still doesn’t revolve around you and they don’t owe you anything. You have free will to support the bands you like and typically there is a lot further connection with music that would prevent you from degrading others because you don’t get to meet them. Some bands don’t even tour—-you should be happy enough just being able to see them when a lot of people don’t even get to see their favorite bands live.

Recently I’ve read some pretty trashy things about people who were pissed because the boys of GC didn’t all come out to greet them, and let’s be real—-Good Charlotte is one of the most well known ‘fan bands’ out there; which is partly why they’ve had the amazing successes they have. I have been to countless shows and seen how good they treat their fans and how much time they have devoted to greeting their fans who come out as best as possible, even at their worst health conditions. Like, and for people to say the things and harass them online is ludicrous.

They are the most amazing and dedicated guys I’ve ever met in a band and I will never veer away from believing that. From the first show to the most recent, and they are one of the ONLY bands who I’ve ever even heard thank their fans for coming to the shows, buying merch, listening to their music, and it’s every time. They always thank us, so why is it so damn hard to send that thanks back without expecting every little thing from them? We love them for the music they make and frankly, I’ve never met a nicer band either—they’re always thinking of the fans and I don’t understand how if every five minutes they aren’t coming to your beck and call and hanging out with you that suddenly gives you the right to bash them?

No bueno.

Don’t be a little asshole and revive that sense of entitlement and spread that into a viral harassment because you didn’t get what you wanted. If you paid attention to how involved this band is with their fans, which in my opinion is part of their downfall because everyone begins to expect them to come out every single time, but that’s gonna change if people can’t begin to learn to thankful and appreciative. Who wants to hang out “fans” that are going to turn around at the drop of a dime and bad mouth you because of one incident where you left feeling you got jipped when all you paid for was the show and I’m gonna be biased on this, but if you’re seeing Good Charlotte I know you’re getting one hell of a show.

I just hate the way some kids treat them over things like this. Please, avoid turning into super rude and disheartening fans just because everything you want doesn’t happen. We get amazing shows and we’re lucky they’re still touring with all of their own families to take care of, and they pretty much do nothing but tour. If you love their music so much then shouldn’t you give them the benefit of the doubt? They appreciate you and GC is one of the few bands that even bother to say thank you before the night is over and have countlessly done amazing and unforgettable things to give their fans anything they can to make the experience more than you ever dreamed. Things are NOT entitled to, so get over yourself, stop harassing people on twitter like a six year old, and be thankful for what you do get to experience because a lot of people would trade spots with you for that concert in a heartbeat.

Don’t take the fun out of something just because you are pissed you didn’t get to meet a band, any band. You aren’t entitled to anything, no matter how much you think you may be because you’re a fan—but that’s just it. You’re a fan because you want to be, because you love the music and you want to be there. Don’t be a little shit and ruin it for others or make someone feel guilty for not giving you all you wanted—it doesn’t work that way and it’s not going to help you in future experiences. Enjoy what you get, enjoy life and make the best of it, don’t focus on what you see as the negative. Keep it happy and you’ll still manage to have the time of your life, I guarantee it.

Entitlement is a delusion that’s plagued our generation, so let’s get over it by getting over ourselves.

Nine states a day keeps the doctor away

June 20th

Rams Head Live, Baltimore MD.

From leaving Indianapolis to going to Baltimore in less than a day, I managed to be in nine different states in just that time. Crazy, exhausting, but worth it. Started in Indy, went home to Michigan, layover in NY and South Carolina, up to Mass, through CT-NY again-New Jersey, Delaware and finally what feels like my second home in Maryland.

We didn’t even show up to the venue, which was in an awesome location right on the inner harbor and while it was ridiculously hot outside, we grabbed lunch and didn’t even get to the venue until mid afternoon. Opted for early entry, where we were about 60+ back, but still managed second row for the whole show since it was a pretty wide venue. Actually, the venue was gorgeous and decently sized—SOLD OUT, and maybe one of my favorite venues around that area aside from the 930 club of course. Met up with a bunch of GCFAM—Rachel, Steph and Val, Katie and Sam and a new addition, her younger sister Autumn who totally held her own so well at 12 years of age. It was a blast being reunited aand introduced to so many good friends.

Katie and I got our cheap drink on—legit 3 and 5 dollar drinks while waiting for the show in the early entry lounge. Some of us went to the balcony one the show started, but I wanted to help my strong buzz [four tequila sunrises later and some four loko] and have my way in the pit, getting second row and hanging with Krisse, Sam, Katie, and Autumn. I was definitely a bit wasted for the first half of the show, like until the end of YC. My lungs hurt by the time Runner Runner was off the stage and we were losing our shit during their set—I honestly adore that band and they are really good. They’re nice guys, always giving time to fans, and put on a good show with high energy no matter what. My heart beats for them—it’s kind of obvious.

When YC came on, and this was my first time seeing them in years, the crowd went NUTS. It was fantastic, they played a lot of my old favorites and talk about good showmen and high energy performers—not to mention the very fantastic LP drum solo in the middle of lights & sounds. It was a really good set and the entire place went off, even the balcony and bars.

Closing out the show were our boys, and the hometown love was incredible. Out of all the DMV area shows I’ve been too, this may have been my favorite, at least top 2. It was intense an unforgettable with a great crowd and the boys seemed to enjoy it even more and were happy on stage and sounded fan-fucking-tastic. I don’t care what anyone says, this was one of my favorite shows and they even through in Motivation Proclaimation as a bonus. Joel started to sing a snippet of ‘there she goes’ too and damn, I wish they played more songs like that live.

By the time the set was done, all of us had huge grins on our faces and we headed outside to relax, sit down and check out all what was going on. Talked to Paul and said hi, took some polaroids and stole some hugs and he’s always beyond words. So nice, all the time and despite having family there, of course came out and greeted all the fans. Mr. Thomas, you rule. Deano came out as well, but I missed him because Sam and I headed over to talk with Peter from Runner Runner , who also shares those same traits. I also really adore how much of a good charlotte fan boy he is, really I do.

Before too long, Joel came out as well and we headed over to say hello. We got some pictures individually cause it was broken up, but I was able to have a quick chat and it was really nice. Like, these guys are so insanely nice and always so wonderful and it’s such good feeling as a fan to experience something so positive. After a good laugh, and being thankful since I hadn’t seen him in a while, we said goodbye and moved over to let others finish up and rest a bit more.

Danny, the birthday boy of the night came out as well and we talked with him for a while. Again, even the GC crew, you couldn’t ask for a better group of guys. Without these boys around we wouldn’t have had some of the incredible experiences we had. We got to wish him a happy birthday and chat about random things before he headed off to enjoy the rest of his night.

Nobody else came out and it was going on two am so we headed out and went to get some drinks and catch a taxi back to the hotel. However, we noticed a 24 hour Subway right next to where all thee taxis were and a 7-11 so we split up because let’s face it—food after a long show and day when you haven’t eaten for hours, is like heaven in your tummy. Nomnomnom. So we head over into subway and right then notice Danny, Joel, and Vince [Army of Me/River James]. We just wait to order our food, say hi, and end up chatting over a few things while we’re in there. I got to talk to Vince a little and he was very polite and kind, nice to talk to; which of course doesn’t surprise me at all. Talked to him about traveling and a few other things before the boys left to go eat and head back. It was a nice little run in and the food was good for me when we got back to the hotel—so a win win if you ask me.

Heading pack, we cleaned up, put our PJs on and managed just a wink of sleep before starting our journey to the next show in Norfolk,VA. Baltimore was an amazing show, had an amazing crowd, got to see a ton of friends, and talk with the boys. It was a good night. A good, good night.

Made me realize how grateful I am to do what I do and to just take a second, soak it all in, and know that I am one of the lucky ones. I’m surrounded by people who love me and music that makes me feel like I belong—what more could a girl need?

Reunited and it feels so good

June 18th

Indianapolis, IN. Egyptian Room.

Game on—tour is back and you sure as hell feel it leaving at 4am for a four hour drive to some random city for the show. It feels amazing despite the obvious wear that comes with it. I didn’t even get super excited until later in the day but I was stoked. Sadly, two and a half months is about the longest break I’ve gone without seeing Good Charlotte this entire past year so it felt pretty long.

Once we got into the city we met up with Jesi and Krista and it was so much fun seeing them, love them more than words! Headed to check into our hotel early because they said we could, and it was a lovely suite and got settled, I tickled tiffany until she cried, and finally made myself presentable for the day. Note—don’t wear light brown tights, people will think you have your entire legs tattooed in henna styled florals and ask you continuously why you would get a tattoo like that.

And all over the city that day we were running into the boys and seeing them out, so of course the excitement only grew! Not to mention, downing that much vodka during the day makes everything feel a little better.

The rest of our GCFAM started showing up and around 530 we were let in for early entry down to a lounge, only to have to come back up an hour later to get into the show. Some shady people got in front of others but we all managed to still get barrier, right in front of good ol’ Benji.

Runner Runner came on first, and I do love those kids. Seen them a bunch now and it was a great show, they’re fun and we talked to them afterwards and they’re super sweet too—even running down bandmates on their bus to get things signed for Jesi. Peter also really loved my newest tattoo, the Let The Music Play one, and went on and got his camera to take pictures of it. He knew right where the lyrics were from and agreed that they should bring it back to the live shows—so yes, major brownie points Peter.

Then, surprisingly quickly, the boys were on at 830 and I still had a quiet buzz going. But during set up I noticed something out of place—where the hell is NEIL?! I didn’t see him at all last night. Hmm. Anyhow, once the cardio intro started, my heart picked up its pace and my smile was unstoppable—these boys never fail to make me love them more and more with every show. I’m at my happiest with my friends squished on the barrier and I never want to lose that. I’m lucky for what I get to do and I’m happy. I’ll never regret or forget to be thankful for my experiences.

Now off that tangent, the boys, while the setlist was again pretty identical to what it has been—I’d love to see it changed up more myself, but I’ve just been hearing the same songs forever, others haven’t. I’m more picky I suppose, but they never fail to pull of their songs wonderfully no matter what they are—even if they mess up, it’s pretty perfect and this show was fantastic. They sounded so healthy and looked better, nice and rested. Benji said the shorter sets help with that and I can see that, but let’s face it, when we see them on the stage we never want them to leave! I am so much more than happy that they are finally well rested and feeling better though because it was scary there for a hot second.

The crowd seemed really into it too, I mean they weren’t really rowdy, but rowdy in a good way—-shows will never seem as intense though, not after all the UK shows. It was good though, good people, fun songs, and healthier boys who were showing off their awesome “girl” dance moves and smiling. I know I had a fucking blast and it was a great way to start off this tour for myself. I am so beyond excited for the rest of the week and what it holds show wise.

We didn’t stay for YC’s set, but I’ll see them later and I was still tired from everything so we went back to the car, which was by the buses anyways. We grabbed a few more drinks, more like three, two rums and one vodka we mixed with juices and by the time the last one was down I was more than feeling it and the giggly, rambling drunken Ashley made her way out. I couldn’t even hide it. I was singing Gaga loudly, telling everyone I love them and I don’t remember all the details. Paul laughed at me and I look so crazy drunk in our picture, but got hugs and high fives. I do remember I love him though and he’s always so much more than awesome to us.

I sat down after that, fed people snacks, hugged a pole, laid in rocks, and I’m sure pictures will pop up of things I don’t quite remember. We also talked to Danny, which I was more composed for, and I’m sorry, but he always looks good. There’s no denying that is one gorgeous guy. Made small talk, he headed back to get his stuff together, then more of the runner runner guys, more singing and dancing, and a bit more rum. Benji came out before we left, and red is a really good color on him—just sayin’. Super sweet as always, but there were a lot of kids so it was really quick. Nearly took my head out on the mirror too and proceeded to stumble on the rocks as I left because I was thinking too hard to try and answer his question of what other shows I was going to. I’m sure he was shaking his hair cape at me, because I was. Haha, I’m a drunken mess. Forgive me now for future incidences and tweets—my phone wasn’t working but I remember repeatedly trying to tweet shit and it was bad haha. Obviously my phone knew better.

But you know, it was just an excellent night and great way to start off tour and vacation. I don’t remember every part of it, but I know it was wicked fun. I didn’t even take a single picture during their set and it was just that much more enjoyable despite missing out on some golden Kodak moments. I love this band and I love my life. This is just what I needed to get me back to where I need to be and out of that rut I was in.

I’m right where I belong and it’s never felt better.

We Left Our Hearts in Milwaukee

In honor of the quickly approaching one year anniversary of one of the most memorable nights of my life. [June 11, 2010]—

I’ll remember it always like it was just yesterday. I never realized I hadn’t even posted about it, but we kept it under wraps for quite a while.

I can’t even begin to explain how much this day meant to me—and how much it still does. The love I have for this band reached an entirely new level that I never knew it even could. …These guys are amazing and I only wish that everyone understood that unbreakable bond music can create and how fantastic, how blissful music can make your life; the sun seems to shine a little brighter when your favorite song is playing.

First of all, let’s talk about the journey we had to take to even get to Milwaukee. The day before, Jasmine, Isa, Lor and I returned home back to Detroit and in just hours we had to go back to the airport to get Tezzie and Krisse. It was my first time actually ever meeting Tezzie in real life, even though she was one of my first GCFAM friends that I’d been talking to for years. It was beyond words to have all of us girls together and still so many shows to get to; especially after the insane West Coast tour run that resulted in our Starbucks sit down with Joel, crashing with Kayln and Sara, my proposal to Jasmine of course, and some very loud singing in the car with our windows down and the camera rolling.

Everyone had finally arrived and we all came back to the house and crashed, getting accustomed to each other and trying to settle the never ending anxiety of the show; we were more than ready for everything Milwaukee had to bring—being a new city and venue for us all. ….But we were in for more than we ever could have imagined.

Prepping for the drive, we left at like 11pm the night before and I was ready to rule the road in my Brett Michael’s attire and Tim Horton’s coffee. Of course no one planned on all the rest stops [which became a casual thing] and the eight hours it actually took to get there. That’s what happens when there’s one driver, much more so with a small bladder and running on forty minutes of sleep.

Pulling in the morning of the show around 8 am we regained our class and put our make up and clothes on in a McDonalds bathroom. Then, Jazzy and I took a nap in the car and…later in the building as well, but hey, gotta sleep when you can. Tezzie and Krisse has this as their first show and managed to snag the last two meet and greets for the day, while we sauntered around and met up with Sonia, talked to Bree for a while from Buzznet again, and watched Ricky pull off some wicked card tricks.

After the girls came back from the meet and greet, they were ecstatic and overjoyed and it was so much fun to see. Their faces alone made me smile and we laughed and hugged and gushed in the bathroom before heading down to catch the sets. We made our way to second row by the time GC came on but holy mother of humidity, it was HOT. Like, uncomfortably hot and we were slick with sweat in the first three minutes of being in the room. I couldn’t stand it and almost left mid set but we stuck it out and although disgusting and sweaty, always worth it. The set was fun and we killed the then unknown Like It’s Her Birthday and although still only a thirty minute set, GC knows how to put on a show like none other. They’re amazing. Simply put. You need to see them to understand the perfected showmanship they’ve developed over the years.

After GC finished their set, we left the venue and headed back to my car, which was in the lot directly across the small street of their bus—pretty good view if you ask me. Had our Snapple and snacks and proceeded to just chill out and try to cool down—it was still pretty hot outside and sticky.

We saw Benji relaxing outside and a few other kids went up to him, but we just sat and waited for a while, letting them have their time and do their stuff before Sonia led us across the street and we headed over to say hi. After all it had been like a whole five days since we had seen them. One of the biggest breaks in our whole tour, plus it was still the girl’s first show and who the hell is going to say no to a little Benji Madden time? Thought so.

We talked for a quite a while actually—about sports, tattoos and me being on crazy pill in his eyes because I don’t think my feet tattoos hurt, took pictures, and ended up back on the subject of Cardiology and being so beyond stoked for a new album.

Then he popped the question.

“Do you guys want to hear it?”

Cue jaws dropping and hearts racing. And with perfect timing, Danny walks by and Benji asks him if he can set everything up for us on his bus. He agrees and before we know it, we’re prepping to go listen to the new album. We all were in shock, but pure bliss and happiness.

Of course we couldn’t have anything on us, so we went and dropped all phones and cameras in my car and headed back over once they had gotten set up. Met Danny at his bus and stepped onto the lovely air conditioned ride, greeted by Benji on one of the couches as we all found a place to sit.

Danny actually filmed every second of the day, even an intro with Benji, explaining what was happening as we passed out tissues—just in case because we were wrecked just by stepping on the bus. We were going to hear brand new good charlotte music that only their friends and family had heard—we felt honored and that’s what it has ALWAYS been about for us—the music. Why we love this band and do what we do—the music connects us in a way others have failed at.

While we laughed at all of Benji’s jokes and appreciated him going that extra mile, he started his ipod and played the intro for us. All I could hear was ANGELS. It sounded like heaven and he told us it tied into the end of the album and of course it does as we see now, and just, it sounded amazing and we were all still beaming. I couldn’t help but watch Benji’s face as he gauged our reactions and bounced his knee to the beats.

Then, well, then he played Let the Music Play.

Cue the fucking waterworks. Every word hit me like Muhammad Ali [really lame analogy right?] and despite Benji’s warning of “no crying allowed!”, I couldn’t help it. It was perfect and still is perfect. I’ll never forget where I first heard this song and who I was with. I just, the lyrics reached in a rather profound way and it exemplifies why I love this band the way I do—there’s a connection that can’t be explained. If you know it, then you know the feeling and just how good it is.

After our minds were blown by let the music play, he started the album version of Like It’s Her Birthday and for some reason, we failed to control ourselves and couldn’t resist singing along. Most people at shows still didn’t even know the song but we were just sitting there, singing and jamming to the song with Benji and he smiled a lot; he seemed to enjoy our insanity.

He wanted to play more, but they had plans so we headed off and said our goodbyes and thank yous—huge, enormous thank yous, and filmed reactions with Danny and just hung out trying to process everything. We couldn’t though, and frankly, I’m still having a hard time processing it. This band is what it is because they treat their fans so well and show how much they actually do care—anyone who says differently can completely fuck off and have no idea what they are talking about and I’m not afraid to defend that at all. I’ve never met a nicer group of guys and every crew and band they’ve played with has personally told me the same.

We then got to talk to Joel for a little bit, tell him about what we thought of the album and I got to show him the tattoo I had done that he had written out for me. Had a brief hello to Billy who was excited to eat his food, and some story time and pictures with Dean as well before they scooted away into the sunset.

We got back into my car, stopped at subway for dinner and freaked out a little bit more before heading to Chicago to meet up with Loreana and [stay at the nicest hotel I’ve ever been in], and get ready for the next show at Soldier Field.

The most amazing night of our lives, and little did we know the year to follow would be the best of our lives. It’s been a trip, and I’d do it all again tenfold, no matter what. I know I’m lucky to do what I do and I know I probably sound like I’m stuck on repeat, but there isn’t a second I’m not thankful for being able to do what I do.

The Milwaukee experience will be in my top memories for the rest of my life. Thank you to everyone involved—all of good charlotte and my best friends.

Mission Impossible: attempting to banish the hatred in music

I don’t quite understand the hatred in the music industry. It’s a strong and disgusting word and as a society we love to bring down any artist that we fail to have a personal preference for. Of course I can’t lie, throughout my younger years, I was plenty guilty of this crime—any music that wasn’t in or competed with my favorites was “awful, dumb, ridiculous” music that deserved no place in the industry or anywhere near my cd player. Having grown up and become slightly more intelligent, I corrected my faults and of course, being a very dedicated fan of a band that many people just “love to hate”, has opened my eyes greatly to how ignorant and insulting the industry and its fans have become.

I feel like people just get off, pardon my bluntness, on hating on artists. It gives them something to do when they aren’t masturbating in their parent’s basement or searching craigslist for a date, so they jump on their blogs and the “hated” artists’ fan forums and websites just to stir up some drama and search for validation that their hatred will turn others against the musician or just gain the attention they were seeking all along. And of course, they are typically successful in riling up the fans who declare war on the hater and the bashing goes on and on.

So I have just one question: what’s the fucking point?

So you don’t like Justin Bieber, does that entitle you to feel like you need to bash his music and go as far as bashing his personal character because you can catch onto “baby”? First of all, just because you want to play king or queen of music land for the day, perhaps you should first head to the rule that your mother taught you way back when: if you don’t have anything nice to say then shut your fucking mouth. Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions, but not when those opinions are purposefully hateful and bringing down others.

Can’t you simply just say that it’s not your cup of tea and deal with it? Do you need to say that someone is a ‘fucking sellout’, ‘douche for the last album’, ‘sound so washed up’, ‘couldn’t sell an album if they gave it away for free..’, ‘must be a real asshole’, when you honestly know nothing personally about these artists and their lives? Although a song may be shit to you, it could mean the world to the person beside you.

There’s enough hatred in the world outside of music, and in a world where so many people from across the globe can connect through music, why can’t we just cut the shit? Everyone has a different favorite band or singer, everyone hears and interprets music differently so there is no justification in thinking you’re superior or have the right to trample all over who they love just because you disagree. We’re supposed to be different—if we all thought and liked the same things, well that’d be pretty fucking boring. We’re individuals with individual tastes and opinions, but we all have control over how we conduct ourselves. If you find happiness in bashing a kid’s favorite musician and tearing others down for something they pour their time, heart, soul, and energy into then maybe you should take a serious look in the mirror and judge yourself before you grant yourself the right to judge anyone else. You might see how petty you really are and how much time you’ve wasted hating on artistry instead of cherishing the things you actually love and that make you happy.

Everyone has that one perfect song or that one band that makes you feel completely invincible for three minutes when playing and for once, no problems or troubles exist; you just are. You’re happy. You’re at peace and smiling. When you understand and have that feeling, why would you want to ruin that for anyone else?

Like mentioned earlier in this rant for my heavy distaste of hatred in music, I am a long time fan of one of the industry’s bands most loved to be hated—Good Charlotte. Having been to over sixty shows, I am going to consider myself qualified to vouch for this band and the multitude of fans met over the years. Ever since I’ve been going to shows, there’s been disagreeable people and haters galore on this band [which, of course I’m biased on and have no problem admitting that], and I’m finding commonalities in what people “hate” on for musicians and how vocal they enjoy being because of those attention seeker personalities.

1. 1. You hate a band if they produce the same music over and over again.

2. 2. You hate a band if they change their sound in any way at all.

3. 3. The more famous someone becomes, the more you enjoy hating them.

4. 4. You can say their music sounds like shit, but if someone were to say that to you about music you like, then you’d grab the nearest sharp object and pretty much hunt them down to kill them for saying said things.

5. 5. You think that posting and going public with your hatred of a musician will gather you attention and you don’t care if it’s negative or not.

6. 6. You tend to not really know anything about the band, their music, or the musicians but find yourself able to make judgments on the band, the music, and their personal lives.

7. 7. You’re probably kind of an asshole.

I also don’t understand people who will go to shows of the hated band in question and boo them, yell derogatory marks, buy cds to break them, or shirts to rip them up—because in the end, you’re only fueling their success and bringing more attention to them. Does it not make more sense then just to be rational, stay quiet and go out and support the musicians you actually like? Perhaps you were just dropped more than once as a child.

If you fully believe that hatred is going to cause a band to cease to exist, you are terribly mistaken and again, I recommend you find some positive to put all that energy into; you’ll be a happier person that way. Music is a positive experience and something we all cherish uniquely and that holds a very deep, personal meaning for the majority of us. I can honestly say that will out Good Charlotte I may not actually even be here to type this right now [which some of you might like], but I was lucky enough to find that unbreakable connection. The one that pulls me out of my darkest days, puts a smile on my face, and gives me hope that everything will be okay. Music is something so beautifully intangible and although you may love to hate certain things, you can still never take that feeling and bond away from those who truly understand and grasp it.

Look at Good Charlotte. Fifteen years and going strong, putting out amazing and positive music for their dedicated fan base that is still growing and still holds some of the most dedicated and fantastic people I’ve ever met in my life. Through every single person who has given them complete shit and “hated” on them, they made it through stronger and better than ever. They’re some of the most positive and talented and just genuinely sweet people I’ve ever had the pleasure of getting to know in my life. [Again, I must reiterate that I am biased when it comes to Good Charlotte, but I can guarantee you I can present you with uncountable amounts of people who agree].

So while you go on trying to ruin experiences for others because you simply have nothing better to do with your life and have a severe and damaging need for attention, I’ll be at the shows of the bands you love to hate. I’ll be screaming along to Bieber in the car because my best friend likes him and while he may not be my favorite, he’s a working artist and obviously doing something right. Just because we don’t like something, doesn’t mean we have to hate it. How about you just change the station or skip to the next song instead of being a complete Debbie downer?

If people would realize there’s no good that comes from dragging hatred into such a universal love of music, then maybe they could embrace the individuality and freedom music gives us to express ourselves in any which we way we choose.

Music is happiness, so don’t you dare rain on my parade.

Saying Goodbye One More Time |ANAHEIM|

March 28th

Anaheim

[…only a month late on the post]

The end of another GC tour came much too quickly, and in my once temporary home [still full heartedly my home otherwise] in Anaheim, Downtown Disney. We didn’t leave Sara’s until later and headed down to Orange County to send the last show off with all we had.

Had Rubio’s for lunch [mother effing NOM], met up in line with Jasmine’s cousin, Jon, and slowly the GCFAM started to pour back in. Got to see Kelly again, Todd and Steph arrived, Romina and Liz, and we just knew it was going to be another killer night. Little did we know how “off” it was going to get. Also saw little Pat from the Maine hanging around that day; I miss them heaps!

Before we headed in I might have had a bit of special lemonade, then we ended up just second row to start [by the time good charlotte came on, I had my spot on center barrier]. The HOB was smaller than I remember, but cozy none the less and I’ve come to not hate the HOB any more after this tour; much less strict than they used to be so we’re good again. Sara was photographing the show that night so we got to see our little munchkin doing her work, but the damn stage was so tall so I felt bad, but she pulled it off.

The Black Cloud Collective opened again, and I do again like them quite a bit, and it was a hometown show for Brandon so he killed it. …and almost killed the crowd by swinging the mic and nearly taking some heads off. He jumped onto the barrier again and CRIMENY that boy is HUGE. Like, massive, obviously carrying Joel around like a rag doll at the end of the show gives you some instance of how big that boy is; but so is his voice and personality, so it evens him out. And hey, it’s nice being around some guys taller than myself, haha.

Then This Century took it again and I miss those kids already. So much fun this tour and I hope they’re all still feeling well and taking care of themselves. Their songs are constantly stuck in my head these days and while I do always compare them to the Maine [Joel and John obvs twinsies] they are different and I love both bands and would love to see them again. They’re very sweet natured and stylish, just friendly kids who are going places and in a good direction. Kudos to you boys, keep it up.

Of course FTSK came on next, and if you thought Brandon nearly smashing kids with the mic was something then get ready for this. I love me some crazy Jonathan and hip thrusting galore that is the FTSK set with fabulous sing a long songs. They’re young and crazy and pull off stage shows so incredibly well. JCook hopped down and stood above us ON TOP of the barrier ledge a few times and before the show was over, he was LITERALLY on top of the crowd—walking, not surfing. Like Jesus on water, JCook on fans. I felt bad for the kids getting stepped on and hurt, but it was a sight I’ve never witnessed before [so to all those stepped on, I hope your bruises healed!…and find Jonathan, he’ll give you a high five].

Of course, then it was time for our boys and the show was again running on time, at least close and more than ever before. At the end of the show all the bands and stuff came out and partied on stage and it was cool to see again and albeit a smaller group, just watching them all jump around and smile is amazing. There’s a special showman quality that GC has and ask anyone who has seen them; putting on shows [aside from the taking the title of ‘nicest guys in rock n roll] it’s what they do best.

I don’t even know what to say with these boys anymore. Already I miss them again and the time from this show in Anaheim to June 18th when I see them next is the longest break I’ve had from them in an entire year. I feel so grateful, but I’m anxious too. I can’t wait to see them again and see what the new set list is, just hang out with my best friends and make the most of every second. Every show makes its own special memories and leaves me with the feeling of such joy that I know what I’m doing is right for me. I wouldn’t trade any of this for any material possession in the world; there’s a feeling being at a live GC show that nothing else can give me and I never feel more at home than when I’m surrounded by my best friends and the absolute most fantastic band I’ve ever seen, met, had the pleasure of knowing. I never want to give this up and honestly, as long as I can make it work, I’ll be there. So keep an eye out for me whenever you head to a show because I’m in this for the long haul.

Back home to the west coast |Los Angeles|

March 27th

Los Angeles

Somehow my work schedule worked out to where I could make it out to the tail end of the tour…seeing as many of my girls were already set to go, how could I refuse the slap in the face telling me to go!? If the timing is right, I’m seizing it; I’m not going to live my life with a bunch of ‘what ifs’ because all the decisions I’ve made to travel have been worth it and given me the best memories…who cares if I have a little less money in the bank, no amount of money can make me wish I hadn’t done all the things I’ve done.

So Friday night I zoom out of work, just make my flight, and aside from an extended flight and extra turbulence, I find myself back in my true home and arriving at LAX. Jasmine, Missy, and Sara picked me up and we pretty much caused a scene in the traffic lane, but my grin grew and I couldn’t stop smiling. We all picked up from where we left off and honestly, like, California feels like home. Every time I go there and I remember where things are, just the presence and the people, the best friends, I never want to leave it. That’s one of my goals though, and I’ll get there and make my physical home there soon; I’m not done pulling all these rabbits out of these hats yet.

So after a late night IN N OUT snack, which is like fast food gold, we headed back to Sara’s home and it was late, but just being back there was fantastic because it brought back so many fantastic summer memories.

We had an early morning, which of course felt fine to me considering I was still running three hours ahead of everyone else, but the excitement definitely came rushing back again because I hadn’t seen a show with my West Coast girls since November. By noon, we had gotten lunch, ran into Todd and Stephanie randomly at the H&M at the Highland center and gotten in line at the HOB on the sunset strip.

I made failed attempts to do homework, we made new friends in line, and it was so warm outside for me that I was living it up. Later in the day I got to say hey to Danny, we talked to the boys of This Century [they’re wicked adorable, just so everyone knows and I’m pretty sure I ended up telling their Joel he was good looking], and Jazz and I ran into the twins on our way to the bathrooms. Nice, just unexpected—but it was the first time I got to see Joel all tour so it a good second anyhow we just weren’t ready for it quite then haha. Never gonna complain about running into the boys ever.

Everyone was really stoked partly just for the Grindhaus truck to show up, haha. After waiting some more we were let in and not being too far back in line, we snuck in onto the end of the barrier right in front of our favorite bassist. It was a perfect spot and the Sunset HOB was actually really nice…and had some fucking tricked out layout. The upper balconies pulled some Harry Potter shit and were on these tracks that moved them in and out to expand the area and I was freaking out man, hahaha, I’m much to easily amused.

The Black Cloud Collective[new band of Brandon from Atreyu] opened and I actually really like them, and dude, he’s MASSIVE. Good though, a bit of change from the typical but good and I’ve had their songs stuck in my head since our first listen. Then This Century performed and again, hooked on those kids. FTSK next, amazing per usual and I was stoked I was even getting to see them again. Finally the boys came out and seeing as it had been SO LONG, a whole week, since I’d seen them, it was just so much again and being right next to my lovely Jasmine and losing our shit together. …and the awkward girl trying to sleep with the security guard on the other side of me..but anyhow, I mean, there’s just really no way to describe how much I love seeing this band and it honestly just doesn’t get old. Like, I know it should be, but I just don’t get sick of it and every time feels like the first time all over again and it’s always just as exciting.

Had convos with Paul via mouthing shit on stage and he’s hilarious. I love that kid and he totally hit jasmine in the eye with a pick and it was kind of hysterical but she was good and I got one down my shirt. I have a bunch of picks in my wallet now—one from my shirt, one from security guards, one in my boot…they seem to pop up everywhere!

Sara and Missy weren’t feeling too well after the show so we left kind of quickly after the show, but we did get to see our girl Marina for a brief second before we left and I adore her so much! It’s been so long, but she looked fabulous and I was so so happy to even see her for that little bit and was happy she got to experience so many awesome things that night. Love her and all my girls [boys too]. It was a really good night and one of the better LA crowds I’ve seen. After driving us home we all crashed out so we could start our next day and last show in to my former temporary home Anaheim.

I wouldn’t trade this life for anything, this year has been the most amazing year of my life to date and the experiences and travels I’ve had are unbelievable. I’m incredibly lucky and I know I say it all the time but I’d never take this for granted.

We’ll Miss You Too |chicago|

March 15th

Chicago, IL

The drive home from Cleveland and immediate rush to work without sleep again was the death of me, but through it all I was anxious for our next show in Chicago and reuniting with so many of our girls.

The day before the actual show we planned on leaving early to spend the day in Chicago and end what was supposed to be the last show just hanging out and enjoying the city. Plus, we had originally planned to hit the FTSK video shoot happening later that night.

However, the Last Night video premiered that same day and we knew we first had to stop and find something epic. After we had laughed so much we cried and burst a kidney, we headed to the mall for some good ol’ mustache hunts and to see if we could find some vintage Double Dare t-shirts. We didn’t but we found a kiosk and they were such gentlemen and although we waited quite a while and ended up spending our entire day at the mall, we walked away with bright red Family Double Dare shirts that ended up being one of our best ideas ever. Satisfied and after having a good chat with our t-shirt maker and old school GC fan we finally set out for Chicago and enjoyed a beautiful sunset along the way.

Filled with talk of rather interesting and delightful topics, the drive was still bittersweet for me as I found solace in the Monster that kept me awake; it was their last show. I never know when I’ll get to see my girls and knowing, after two months, it was the end was tugging at my heart strings. I couldn’t ask for better friends, nor harder goodbyes.

Goodbyes are something I’ll never get used to or want to take part in. Basically, they can suck it.

Luckily, I was able to sleep in a bit while my lovely girls went early to wait in line at the HOB. Later I went, got to reunite with Rachel, Lor joined soon and the rest followed later that afternoon. During the day a bunch of letters for the boys were collected in line, we got coffee, and I danced in the streets and crosswalks of Chicago, hip thrusting to my new jam—Life of The Party. I couldn’t stop myself and I still find myself walking around and thrusting my way through the song, it’s really quite epic.

After much waiting on stairs and hallways, we were let loose and easily grabbed center stage barrier and the excitement set in and overtook the fatigue. We all crammed into the section and were ready to set it off for our last show [this was actually supposed to be the last for me as well, I just can’t seem to help myself when things end up being scheduled perfectly]. The bands killed it again, and I honestly came away loving two newer bands tremendously more than I already had because they’re such sweet guys and excellent performers. So props to you FTSK & This Century and I can’t wait until I get to see these groups again when they roll into my town.

The show was intense. The floors shook so fucking hard it made me feel like I was on a trampoline, and let’s face it, you have to do a lot to move a person of my size and I felt like a ragdoll. It was perfection to be honest and one of the most memorable and fun US shows I’ve ever been to. Immediately we got smiles and laughs for the t-shirts and mid set when Benji went for his solo song, we ended up getting a very sweet shout out and dedication as seen in the video posted with the entry. Honestly, one of the coolest and most heart warming experiences I’ve had. Like, we know they know us from the sheer volume of visits and we’ve had unbelievable experiences that we couldn’t be more thankful for and we always try to thank them as much as possible for all they do for us and the fact that we’ve never been treated like anything but gold; they’re amazing guys and when someone you admire so much constantly shows, just by taking two seconds to stop and say hi when no one can even begin to comprehend the long days and busy schedules, it’s just nice and reaffirms that what I am doing is right. That I’m happy and they’re genuinely great people who are ridiculously talented and given me the support system of dreams. We’re blessed to have our idols be such rad guys and no one can ever question why we love and support them the way we do; not only do we get the music that has built our relationships, given us hope, kept us close, and in many ways saved my life, we get so much more than that.

After the show, not only did we get some delicious and HUGE Chicago pizza we got to say good bye to Paul [and talk about how pretty of a woman he made], Billy, and Deano very quickly. Also got to talk to Tony, the merch guy, for a good time and he’s fantastic. They’ve had the best merch guys these past few tours and it’s been awesome. So many hugs , goodbyes, and thank yous later we headed back to the hotel to crash and knew even more goodbyes awaited tomorrow and that it wasn’t getting any easier.

We have to say goodbye quite often, but the fact that we even get the chance to say it lets me know that we have it made. I get to see friends from across the world and we cross the world while it sleeps. We’re blessed, we’re happy, we’re best friends out on the road to see the best band anyone could wish to be a fan of. We love what we do and what we have, no one can take our memories and the unbelievable times we’ve had and no one can fathom the family that has grown from times like these.

It may have taken a multitude of years for me to get here, but happiness feels good and I don’t plan on giving it up any time soon; it just so happens that mine comes in the form of good charlotte and the best friends you could ever ask for.

No Sleep For You |Cleveland|

March 12th,

Cleveland

OH-IO

After another long day on the road we zoomed home to pick up Tiffany from my house and headed straight to Cleveland [have I stressed how much I hate driving yet? …too bad it’s always worth it] to meet the girls at the House of Blues. Just like an hour before doors we showed up to the cold ass city and it was so good seeing everyone again—-before the night was over there was a group of fourteen of us claiming the street of Cleveland for our own. Luckily, this time without any giant and terrifying cockroaches running around. The Cleveland Click was one of the largest we’ve had at any show and honestly one of the most fun—I miss everyone so much and we even got to meet a few new kids that we’ll keep close. Kind of makes it sound like we take in strays, but in softer meanings, I guess we do—we’re just always looking for new friends because we know how amazing the results can be; just look at us.

So the wait was short and we snuck in early, claiming the edge of the barrier in front of Paul and everyone was easily piled into that side of the crowd and ready to cause some chaos. Not to mention we had a dry erase board we had entirely too much fun writing inappropriate things on before show time and some made good friends with the bar tender.

Unfortunately, This Century wasn’t able to perform because Joel was really sick, but Runner Runner was there that night and they performed a small set. They’re another band growing on me quickly, having seen them at New Year’s Eve and in DC. The leader singer played a gorgeous acoustic of his wedding song he wrote for his soon to be wife and the whole crowd was one big AWW at the end of it. I knew some songs so it made it even more fun and they’re nice kids honestly. I still hate the sometimes very laid back attitude when it comes to openers compared to the overall nonstop insanity of shows like those in the UK. However, overall these have been some of if not the best US shows I’ve seen in such a long time; it’s unbelievable.

FTSK came on a short time after and I really don’t tire of these kids. Tezzie was slightly sloshed by then and feeling it, yelling and writing WE LOVE ZIGGY on the board and earning love for it; but hey, Ziggy is pretty awesome and that brings me to the point of the past two months. The crews and bands we’ve met on these past two tours have been the most fantastic people I’ve ever been around in music; they’re supportive and hilarious, welcoming to no avail and we’re treated like gold and it seems like everyone gels together so well and is back to enjoying every second they have on the road.

During the GC set change we were loudly proclaiming our love for Tom and letting him know he ruled, because of course he does. Everyone was so amped for the boys to come on and the energy I felt from our group alone was hitting me like lightening. This band just has this presence that takes over the entire room and it is exactly what performers should be able to do; but they’re so much more than that. The feeling that completely takes you over when you hear them play one of your favorite songs [which is all of them, obviously] that makes you feel like you just downed five red bulls and got your wings. I can list off analogy after analogy and it won’t make sense unless you’ve felt it too and trust me, it’s a feeling that never fails even show after show after show.

After we headed out in the cold winter Midwest night and saw some of the guys from each band and just joked around amongst ourselves. The time we have together is priceless because we just honestly never know when may be the next time we even get to see each other so we can never take what we have right now for granted. We’re the lucky ones. That night we spoke to Billy, Dean, Paul and Danny and it was nice to see them all again because we also really can never be more thankful for the time with the guys because they don’t have to walk out into the cold and say hi but they do and they’re fantastic. Never met a more accessible band and the fact that after so long they still make sure to do it reassures me why they’re still around and why so many fans have never left their side. I feel lucky to have the experiences and time that I do and that I’ve been able to see many facets of the people that I had admire. I’ve become so comfortable and seeing these guys is like come home to family—on a not so creepy level—but this band and the people I’ve taken away as my best friends are my family [not to mention, I see them more than my own family] because they are the ones that I have always been there for me, whether it’s from pressing play or giving me that shoulder to lean on.

I never knew back when I was 12 or so that the band on my wall would know who I am. I never knew they’d give me a world of best friends and why I travel the world to see new things, and I never knew how much music would save me when I needed something to save me the most. I’m happy, even on the days where the skies seem gray and maybe you feel more alone than usual, I know I’m not for once. I push play and people I care about comfort me, or I have someone I love tell me they hope I’m okay or that I feel better and I know I will be. For once, I know I will be okay when life feels like I’m being let down or when I’m hurt.

It’s amazing how much some silly little concert can make you think and how much some people just don’t think it can mean a thing.

It’s my world, my way of life, the core of who I am. I am so embedded in music that I hope someone buries me with a pile of mix tapes and instead of eulogizing me just play their favorite songs.

…but if I had only know another drive from hell and sleepless day was ahead of me…

The drive from HELL |Toronto|

March 11th, Toronto

Okay, so after work I came home to the girls in my room and I couldn’t be happier. With my family, by that I mean my friends because they’re the best family I have, it’s like we never left each other and we can start back up immediately from where we left off….even if it’s only a week in between sightings. So I got home late and it was lightly snowing outside, we got all of our things out and ready to go and made the drive through dreary Detroit and across the Ambassador bridge to our lovely Loreana’s gorgeous house, where she fed us vegan cheesecake. We got to see Amanda again as well, who was making the trip with us, but by the time we left the snow was really starting to come down and my car was covered—we had only be there about thirty minutes.

We should have known that the drive would be hell just from that. What should have been four hours turned into ELEVEN and fearing for our lives as truckers recklessly sped past us and vans crashed and spun out, almost taking us with them. I couldn’t go over 30 miles an hour, with no AWD or 4WD we could have easily lost ourselves on the dark and dangerous roads. I was honestly scared that we might end up in a ditch or worse but thankfully we made it safe and sound, no matter how slow we had to take it. Definitely reaffirmed my faith in my own driving skills and ability to remain calm despite how much I may have been panicking inside. We couldn’t even pull over because we would have gotten stuck.

So, after leaving at 11pm we pulled into downtown Toronto around 10am and checked into our nice hotel just a block or two from The Phoenix. My face met the bed pretty quickly and I never wanted to wake up again; I wanted to sleep for ages. Some of the girls headed over to the line and then the rest slept; I was out until two or so and then got up and headed to the venue. We were all excited for the show, being the twins’ birthday and all.

Met someone a friend knew and what a small world, I used to know quite well and wrote with back in the day. It was a big revelation to say the least and made for a crazy day. We headed over to the Magic Oven for lunch, a vegan friendly place, and had a great lunch before heading back for the little bit of the wait we had left for doors. Talked to Danny quickly and gave him the presents that we had for the boys and then we went and claimed our spots on the end of the barrier after getting in; it was a weird spot. No security did anything and we were off the barrier and actually like right next to the speakers but with a perfect view. Joel kept coming into the audience and over on top of the speaker so I definitely almost got trampled by young ones that night.

A local band, which I can’t remember the name of, played first that night and they were fun. Opened with ‘I wanna dance with somebody’ and were upbeat and keeping the audience entertained so I found them enjoyable. This Century played second and this band is surely growing on me and I do like the music. It was much better than in DC and a lot of energy and they’re just kind of cute all around.

FTSK came on after and I mean, I fucking love this band. They’re such showmen and I love the music; I’m sad I haven’t seen them more. Plus, they have a great crew as well and the crowd is SO into them this tour that it makes it even more exciting and fun to watch. They definitely bring life to the party and some awesome dance moves from Jonathan. Then our boys made their way onto the stage and it was a little hard as in between sets we learned of the double show cancellation for Milwaukee and Detroit and of course I love hometown shows for me because it is kind of rare compared to seeing them everywhere else. However none of that matters because their health is our main concern; besides, if they don’t take care of themselves now that can hurt the long run so much more and we want our boys healthy and good for as long as we can get them and fuck anyone who puts their own wants before anyone’s health when they have no idea how strenuous it is on someone’s voice night after night month after month.

This show was special though, because right before Like It’s Her Birthday and after the solo audience try of singing happy birthday, the other bands and Danny came out and surprised the twins with a lit cake and a very well sun happy birthday; their smiles were huge and lit up the entire room. It was fun and a good moment to be a part of. The rest of the night went off perfectly and the setlist changed from DC, but to be honest, I liked the DC setlist more, but I’m just biased because LTMP and Last Night were played then. They played Motivation and Seasons though, actually quite a few self titled tracks and it was fun; every night is a good night when you’re at a good charlotte show. Honestly, I never feel more at home than when I’m front row and screaming along to the songs that have been the most stable things in my life.

We found out Benji was dj-ing at a nearby club that night so after the show we headed to our hotel and got ready and cabbed it over to Tattoo to see the set and enjoy that we could finally all go out together being of legal age in the great white north. The set was quite good and it was fun to see Benji in a different element; he played some good music too. Of course the favorite of the night being The Anthem Remix and the bit of Misery. Also threw in some rancid as well. I got hit on by an awkward man who said EH a lot, might’ve had a drink or several but nothing to get me fucked up, and gotten my bad dance moves on with my girls and whoever the hell was around us. I’m not really a club person but I honestly had a lot of fun, despite being so wicked tired.

After Tattoo, around 230/300 or so it was the hotel and bed time before starting the long day of driving home, then to Cleveland for the next show and hoping to end up there before doors.

Have I mentioned how much I hate driving?

The Motherf***ing 930 Club |Washington DC|

March 4th

Washington DC

What an insane day. So last week when I found out I had Saturday and Sunday off, and could get out of work early the day of the show my mind went straight into booking mode and why wouldn’t I just book a flight and get a ticket? Of course. I’m insane and this band makes me crazy, and I still have not regretted a single decision.

Left work at 2pm on Friday, my flight left at 335, we landed twenty minutes late at 520 and we made it to the 930 club at 628pm. ..too many numbers? Met up with the girls at the front of the club and jumped in right as they opened the doors and I still got barrier—my kind of show. Love the club to begin with, it’s nice and cozy and a fun atmosphere, minus the no recording bit, but just seeing these girls made my entire night. Having fun just messing around and joking with my ginger Katie, seeing Krisse and Tezzie after a long TWO WEEKS, seeing Val and Steph again, Brandi as well, and Katie and Megan was just the highlight. Amanda, after much too long, I got to see as well and get to crash the entire weekend with her back at her house in Maryland. I love this area, it’s so nice and I just love traveling period and I couldn’t be happier to be able to do it with the best of friends and the best of bands.

So, the show didn’t even start until 730 and at this show there was an extra guest band slated to play before the tour line up and it was Runner Runner. They played for almost a half an hour and were okay, the crowd wasn’t much into it. The crowd wasn’t really into anything until FTSK came on and it just made me miss the insanity of the crowds in the UK, but it did get really rowdy and fun during the last two sets. So Runner Runner played a decent set, I knew a song or two from the New Year’s Eve performance and we met one of the members after the show and he was a really nice kid.

This Century was the second band to come on then and immediately my first thought was “…he’s almost a carbon copy of John from the Maine” haha. He was a very soft spoken and hard to hear actually at first, but once he put the guitar down the set got much better and the energy definitely flipped to the high setting and while I’m still not over how young they all look, they were fun to listen to and a good opener. Maybe not fully my style or what I like, but I always want to give the opening bands a chance and they did put on a good show for the crowd.

Then came Forever the Sickest Kids, and after seeing them so much on BRS, I was already excited for the performance to come. I knew about half the set, but the energy in the room definitely took a turn from this point in an upward direction. The kids were really into it, myself included, and the band made it a really fun show for all involved; even the cowboy security guard, Jay. They’re a very good live band and I think my favorite thing was looking up at one of the singers, Jonathan, and just seeing this genuine sparkle in his eyes that showed me at that moment, there was no other place he wanted to be in the world and how happy and grateful he was to be on that stage with the band in front of a rather fantastic crowd at the 930 club. There is a truly genuine quality to these boys and I’m very happy to be seeing them this entire tour. Kudos to you, FTSK.

Then, after a well drawn out night, at 1030, the introduction to cardiology started to play and everyone was ready to lose themselves in what was sure to be an unforgettable hometown show. First of all, my thoughts were on the happy fact that FINALLY Good Charlotte was back in the US on their OWN tour so they could do whatever they want. Secondly, being there in DC on such a whim and with my favorite people in the world made me truly appreciate all the opportunities and experiences I’ve had in my life because of this band and because I have set myself up enough to be able to do these; best thing I’ve ever spent money on and I still don’t regret a single show or second….and this was show number sixty.

Just, every time they play, I feel like a huge chunk of my heart is on that stage. This band is home for me, just looking next to me and seeing my best friends beside me, losing my voice in the best way possible, knowing I’m still here because of being able to overcome everything with the help of the music I get to hear live, truly smiling and being at my happiest, feeling like I’ve never been more at home, and those few seconds when your eyes meet and that instant connection just happens and you know for the next hour and a half you’re going to have the time of your life once more makes me firmly believe that I am doing something right with my life because while I may not be some high class kid with an extraordinary story, I’m definitely one of the happiest. It feels good to say that I’m happy and truly mean it these days because for a long time I wasn’t happy and so much to the point that I didn’t want to be here anymore. I made it through and I couldn’t be more thankful to still be here and be with the most amazing people in every aspect.

Finally I got to hear Let The Music Play and Last Night outside of sound check and OH DEAR HEAVENS. I’m pretty sure I died in the very best way. Absolute perfection and I just couldn’t stop smiling, not to mention just the entire setlist, NINETEEN SONGS SANS THE INTRO, was one of my favorites of any GC show I’ve seen. I LOVE cardiology songs live. SO MUCH. It’s a brilliant album to begin with [see review] and even better live.

Oh, too, did I mention the solo Benji WOUNDED performance? YEAH. Amazing and beautifully done, one of my favorite b-sides out there and a fantastically sung mid-set tune.

After the show everyone met back up and it was so much warmer outside than we’d been used to after many rainy, cold nights in the UK so I was ecstatic. We stayed after for a while, chatting with some of the opening bands ….watching Caleb [sp?] from FTSK dance in the bus window, lift his shirt up, then proceed to come talk to us outside before running back onto the bus and dancing for us some more. …yep. Then Deano came out and we got to talk to him again and get our hugs out, and talk about food, pajamas, shows, and movies, per the usual. Also got to speak with Benji for a moment that night too but all too soon we were leaving and I was saying goodbye to all my girls except Amanda and I knew I was leaving pieces of my heart with him too. You may all just see me as some big sap or being overly cheesy, but these girls are the most amazing people and the best, most supportive and caring people I have in my life. Aside from the few true friends I still have nearby, somewhat close anyhow and from school/etc, I have these girls from across the globe and I’ve never been closer with anyone or have anyone understand me the way my GCFAM does. If you are a part of it then you know what I mean and how hard it is to actually put into words. I’d do anything for any of my girls and I just want them to know I mean it when I say I love you and miss you all the time; you guys are the best friends a girl could ask for and don’t ever think otherwise. Thank you for always being there for me and being everything a best friend should be; thanks for loving me with all my flaws and insanity, you guys are my world and I couldn’t be happier for the time I get with each of you.

So yeah, DC was a good, good night. Tour continues Friday March 11th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and goes until Tuesday March 15th in Chicago, IL. Going to be a busy five show run but I’m stoked.

The End of the Road |London|

Feb 18th

London, K! show 10 of 10.

And now it’s time to say goodbye…

It was an early start out to London from Birmingham, which had been such a great night. Finally got in to Camden town around 1030 or so, but there wasn’t anyone really in line so we got a really good spot and just sat there with mass amounts of our luggage until we could later check into our hostel. We got snacks, just sat and relaxed and crammed into the baby queue. The Roundhouse was actually GORGEOUS, and like some old train engine storehouse. Inside though too, like absolutely gorgeous venue and a good mix between old and modern.

Once we got to our hostel, I took my exam shit and got ready then later headed back to the venue after grabbing some food. Bex and Ashley were at the London show too and because of them we managed to all remain barrier and take over the entire front. I definitely felt a wave of sadness come over me as I lined up next to my girls for the last show, but at the same time, my body was relieved. I just needed a break, but I miss them more than anything. I got to spend so much time with girls I love, make amazing new friends and GCFAM, and just enjoy traveling and the band I love so fucking much.

Every band was amazing that night, and every band has grown on me so much. I am already planning to go check out the Wonder Years in Lansing come April and I’m stoked on it. FYS was beyond insane amazing and man, I want to see them again right now. Even enjoy FH after all of this too, even if I still want to give them all haircuts. And of course, the ever epic GC put on a fantastic last show…even if at one point, the intro to Last Night started to play on the keyboard and we all died with excitement, only it wasn’t actually played. L Hopefully that’ll come over on the US tour. Overall though I did hear a lot of songs I wanted to, even if some of them were only in sound check, like LTMP, Standing Ovation, Alive, etc…

The best part of the London show was the very end, during Lifestyles, when all the crew and bands came out on stage and just went fucking crazy to celebrate the end of tour. Insanity took over, and I have videos somewhere but oh man, absolute blast. London was a great show, not necessarily my favorite of the tour, but unforgettable and a perfect end to amazing run on the Kerrang! Tour.

This journey rekindled my love for photography, made me realize how much I do love traveling even under ridiculous, stressful and exhausting conditions, and that I’m the luckiest girl in the world to have the friends that I do and the opportunities to make so many more along the way. I’ve never been treated better by any band than I have Good Charlotte and talking to other people on tour, they all felt the same way and the bands and crew had nothing but completely positive things to say about that band. Many think we’re crazy, some say we’re dumb, others think we’re just hormonal sex groupies trying to get somewhere [crazy, I know], but they’re all missing out because we’re the lucky ones. We’re living the dream and doing it with our best friends. We’ve realized not to take even the smallest things for granted and now I see that no matter how much rough, unpleasant shit is thrown your way in life, there truly is a silver lining. I’m happy, [although unbelievably sick] and I can’t ever say thank you enough to every person who has been along with me on these crazy rides.

P.S. Goodbyes never get any easier so let’s just leave it at ‘see you next tour’.
