I’m am gonna sound like a dork right now with this post but I don’t care. My band has been together since we were 16 years old. Now we are in our 30’s and we are still goin and we still LOVE it. We still love each other. When we first came out in 99/2000 I can’t even describe how excited we were. None of us had even been on a plane before and next thing you know we had a record deal and we were flyin out to LA to make a record. Then we got hit in the face with the cold reality of what happens when you put yourself out there. We were told by the world at large that we didn’t belong and that we would probably be Gone next week. All the cool guys at magazines etc. Told us we were contrived and immediately made us the under dogs once again. We didnt understand we werent out to get anyone, we just were excited to have our shot. It was hard not to get jaded by that. Infact we did for a while. But we put our heads down and we kept working. We took the hits year in and year out. Everytime we had a problem inside the band we talked it out. We never sold eachother out and we never bailed on eachother when times got tough. Sometimes we felt like we didn’t have a place in music to belong so we made our own. And then all the 15 year olds that had our back grew up. And they started bands of their own, or got jobs at magazines or labels. And NOW when they come say hello, let me tell u something. It’s feels like home everytime. tonight I stood on stage with my band outside of Prague in the chezck Republic and headlined a festival for 20k people and I thought about all these things and I felt grateful. To everyone. Who helped us get here, everyone who had our backs. Even the Haters who motivated us to prove them wrong. CR is a long way from la plata, MD.
